The sun comes up over Tochni. The air is still cool. Somewhere a village bell rings, and the trail waits just past the stone houses. This is where we start.
I'm Adriana, a plant-powered ultra-runner who lives in the mountains of Innsbruck. I race long trails, 100km and more, and I coach runners too. I believe gender is not a weakness in this sport, and I want to show you that out on the hills. Over seven days in Cyprus, you'll join a small team and run from the sea to the roof of the island.
We build it bit by bit. Day two takes us 17km to Lefkara, where women still make lace by hand and a silversmith shares his craft. Then we climb. Day three gains 850m into the Troodos Mountains. We run the Madari ridge, with pine forests and long island views on all sides. The big one comes on day five. Over 21km and 1,320m of climb, we reach the top of Mount Olympus at 1,952 metres.
I won't pretend it's easy. The climbs are long. Your legs will ache. Some days you'll wonder why you signed up. That ache is the point. That's where you find out what you can do.
If you stay on for the Ultra, we drop into the Marathasa Valley, taste wine at a small winery, and finish near the old Kykkos Monastery, with its quiet courtyards and bright mosaics.
Picture the summit. Wind on your face, the whole island below, your legs still buzzing.
I'll take you through it.
Adriana is on the same trail as you every day — out front, firing you up, and getting the group through the difficult bits together.
Difficult on purpose.
These days are meant to be difficult. They're the ones you talk about for years — and you get through them together.
Apply to join the team.
We pick the team carefully — attitude and fitness both matter — so everyone on the trail belongs there and is ready for the difficult days.
The moment
Day five. We reach the top of Mount Olympus together, legs burning from the climb. You look out and see all of Cyprus below, and everyone is grinning because we made it from the sea to the highest point—something none of us could have done alone.
Before you go
This doesn't start on day one. When you join the team you get a training plan for the weeks before, coaching to get you ready, and a team space to meet the people you'll go with. By the time you arrive, you'll know you can do it.
Apply to join
We read every application. Small group — and I want to get the group right. If this sounds like you, apply below.
How the week builds
Day 1
You fly into Cyprus. Then we drive to Tochni, a quiet old village near the sea. You will check in and settle into Cyprus Villages. When the time works, we meet as a team for a welcome chat and a briefing on the week. First night in the Mediterranean air, the trails waiting.
Day 2
Today we run. From Tochni to Lefkara, 17 km with 700 m of climbing. We cross rolling fields, pass old villages, and push through the Larnaca foothills. In Lefkara, you'll wander narrow stone streets. You'll meet the women who make the famous lace, then watch a silversmith work by hand. Quiet streets, tired legs, and old craft still alive.
Day 3
Today we climb. The route runs 20.8 km from Lefkara up into the Troodos Mountains, with 850 m of gain. You will feel the land shift under your feet. Trees change. The air cools. We reach Kionia at around 1,200 metres, with wide mountain views. Then a minibus carries us on to Troodos. Tired legs, big skies.
Day 4
Day 4 is a circular loop on the Madari trails. You will run 15 km with 670 m of climbing. Expect sharp ridgelines, long island views, and thick pine forest across rough mountain ground. We stop at the Venus-Rose workshop in Agros along the way. Back to Troodos, with the ridge still in your legs.
Day 5
This is the big one. We transfer to Kakopetria, then start to climb. The trail runs 21.2 km with a steep 1,320 m of ascent. Forest shifts around you as you push higher. You will reach the summit of Mount Olympus at 1,952 metres, the top of the island. Coast to summit, done. Stand there and breathe it in.
Day 6
Day 6 depends on your route. Core team, this is goodbye. We share breakfast, then a bus takes you to Larnaca Airport. Ultra team, we keep going. You run 20.3 km from Troodos down to Kalopanagiotis, through forests and orchards, with just 180 m of climb. That night, we taste wine from a local winery. Quiet valley, tired legs, full glass.
Day 7
This is our last run. We cover 18.9 km with 1,100 m of climbing. We head through quiet forests and remote mountain paths toward Xylogefiro. Then we reach Kykkos Monastery, the most famous on the island. You will see wide courtyards, bright mosaics, and calm mountain air. Legs tired, heart full. The hills stay with you.
Day 8
Day 8 is goodbye. You will wake in Kalopanagiotis and have breakfast one last time. Then you will board the bus to Larnaca Airport. The run is done. Your legs remember every climb, from the coast to Mount Olympus. Hold onto the quiet of these mountains as you head home.
